You will play a central role in managing, coordinating, and delivering assessments across the undergraduate Medical Education programmes. This includes knowledge papers, CPSA (OSCEs), and coursework submissions. As part of the School’s Assessments Team, you will ensure that all administrative, logistical, and regulatory elements of assessment delivery are carefully planned and executed, supporting a fair, well-organised, and positive experience for students, academics, and examiners.
Working closely with colleagues across the School of Medicine including academic teams, clinical skills staff, and professional services you will help ensure assessment processes are robust, compliant, and consistently delivered to a high standard. You will contribute to assessment activity across multiple courses, supporting both day-to-day operational delivery and the ongoing review and improvement of assessment practices.
The role requires flexibility in both working hours and location. While you will have allocated office days, you will also be expected to work at Jubilee Campus and other sites as required, particularly to support on-site examinations and provide hands-on operational oversight.
The duties described provide a framework for the role but are not exhaustive. You may be asked to undertake other reasonable responsibilities appropriate to the grade and purpose of the post, and you will be expected to work flexibly to support Professional Services activity across the School of Medicine.
The role sits within the delivery arm of the Assessments Team in the Education Centre at the University of Nottingham’s School of Medicine. The team comprises nine APM staff and is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of clinical assessments across the undergraduate medical programme. Each year, the team supports large-scale practical examinations for approximately 1,800 students, working closely with academic colleagues, NHS partners, clinical educators, and a wide Community of Examiners. The team operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong focus on professionalism, inclusivity, operational excellence, and service development.
You will bring relevant qualifications or substantial experience in further or higher education, alongside strong administrative experience, data handling and reporting skills, and a sound understanding of GDPR. You will be highly organised, an excellent communicator, and confident managing multiple priorities to demanding deadlines, with a strong commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
We offer a supportive and inclusive working environment, hybrid working, generous annual leave, a staff reward scheme, opportunities for professional development, and access to a wide range of health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits.
