Role Overview
As Foundations for Practice Phase Lead at the Lincoln Medical School (LMS), you will make a significant leadership contribution to the running of the BMBS programme, providing academic oversight of the Foundation for Practice component of the curriculum. This 0.2 FTE role offers flexibility, allowing you to balance your clinical commitments seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for quality of course delivery.
- Contribute to curriculum leadership and delivery of training to staff.
- Aid in the development and delivery of assessments, including contributing to the question bank, standard‑setting, developing scenarios for Clinical Professional Skills Assessments, workplace‑based assessments, and participating in examining.
- Oversee student progress and performance in the Foundations for Practice Phase, collaborating with local Learning Education Providers (LEPs) and monitoring students through electronic portfolios.
- Play a role in monitoring student progress and retention as a personal tutor, providing guidance to students facing challenges in completing placements and both formative and summative assessments within the phase.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Maintain regular NHS clinical practice, GMC registration with a licence to practice and be revalidated with the GMC.
- Have MBBS, or equivalent, a PhD or equivalent in a medical specialty or medical education, or equivalent extensive professional/teaching/research experience.
- Have membership or Fellowship of a Royal College in a specialty that ULHT provides services for, or be a General Practitioner in the area local to Lincoln and be eligible for the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT at time of interview.
- Post is available on fixed‑term contract until 28 February 2029. Hours of work are part time (8 hours/week).
