We are seeking enthusiastic and forward-thinking part-time Clinical Assistant Professors to play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding teaching within the University of Nottingham, including our new, purpose-built Skills and Simulation facility.
These flexible, part-time posts are designed to complement an ongoing clinical career, allowing you to bring current real-world practice directly into your teaching. You will deliver high-quality, student-centred education, contribute to curriculum design and quality assurance, support learners through teaching and assessment, and help drive global excellence in medical education. These roles are offered on a part-time basis with a minimum of 0.3 FTE and a maximum of 0.8 FTE. The total FTE available is 3.5 but the specific details for each successful applicant will be determined after the interview stage.
About The Role: You would be joining the team at a very exciting time for the University of Nottingham Medical School. We are going to be delivering a new curriculum with emphasis on clinical skills, simulation and clinical communication, and this role will be integral to the teaching and development within this new purpose-built University Skills and Simulation facility. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, innovative educators to deliver the new curriculum and develop and maintain a global excellence within medical education.
The purpose of the role is to lead and provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning on our medical programme, to contribute to medical curriculum development, quality assurance and enhancement, and to work in partnership with staff and students to maintain the highest standards in medical education.
Your work will be underpinned by proactive engagement with critical inquiry into the processes of learning in higher education contexts which is evidence-driven in order to enhance student learning and the quality of teaching. You will make a contribution to the Education Centre via leadership, administrative management and co-ordination of specific initiatives.
About The Team: The Simulation and Skills team at the Clinical Training Centre (CTC) works as a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary group dedicated to delivering high-quality, learner-centred education across undergraduate and interprofessional programmes. The team comprises simulation and clinical skills educators, technicians, learning technologists and administrative colleagues, working closely with clinical and academic stakeholders across the School of Medicine and partner organisations.
The team operates with a strong emphasis on shared leadership, mutual support and psychological safety, recognising that effective simulation and skills based education is inherently team-based. Roles within the team are clearly defined yet flexible, allowing individuals to contribute their unique expertise while developing new skills through collaboration, co-facilitation and reflective practice.

About You: You will hold an MBChB or MB BS and have good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media.
You will have the ability to devise, advise on and manage learning and research programmes; design and deliver high quality and up-to-date course materials; and to manage resources and an understanding of management processes. It is a condition of this post that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
