The School of Politics and International Relations is seeking an Assistant Professor to make a significant contribution to its research and teaching programme in political science with a focus on quantitative methods.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research producing publications in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals and/or monographs.
- Develop and win support for innovative research and teaching development proposals and funding bids.
- Take responsibility for convening modules and planning and delivering high quality teaching in quantitative methods.
- Provide pastoral care for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Contribute to the school via leadership, administrative management and coordination of specific initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Research expertise that complements and extends a school research centre, with evidence of an international publication record.
- Potential to generate external research funding.
- Ability to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching curriculum, including the quantitative methods pathway.
- Experience delivering quantitative research methods to undergraduate and postgraduate students using R; previous teaching experience using R is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, a strong sense of teamwork, commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and the capacity to undertake a variety of administrative duties.
Contract & Working Hours:
The post is offered on a full time, permanent contract with a weekly workload of 36.25 hours.
