We are looking to appoint a full‑time Assistant Professor in Drama to work in our team in the School of English at the University of Nottingham. The role is a fixed‑term teaching contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 May 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the long twentieth and twenty‑first centuries.
- Contribute to the core first‑year survey‑type module, Drama, Theatre, Performance; convene a second‑year module, Twentieth‑Century Plays; and contribute to a final‑year module, Changing Stages: Theatre Industry and Theatre Art.
- Possibly contribute to other drama and performance teaching as appropriate within the workload allocation of the role, and more widely to the School of English’s teaching, tutoring and research activities.
Qualifications:
- PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area of drama and performance with evidence of teaching ability at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Experience of teaching practical drama workshops is essential.
Mentoring and Career Progression:
Mentoring towards further career progression will be offered throughout the period of the post.
