Role Summary
As Assistant Events Manager, you will help deliver a vibrant programme of large-scale student and commercial events, working closely with stakeholders to generate commercial income through sponsorships, partnerships and promotional activity. You will ensure events are delivered safely, professionally and in line with organisational values and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the planning, promotion and execution of flagship events such as Freshers, Varsity, Sports Ball and Graduation Ball. • Engage with sponsors, partners and commercial teams to secure and manage event sponsorships. • Develop partnership agreements, manage budgets and deliver accurate financial reporting. • Lead operational delivery, ensuring health and safety, risk management and quality standards are met. • Build strong stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration across student, staff and external partners. • Maintain meticulous event documentation and post‑event reviews to inform future planning.
Qualifications & Experience
• Proven experience in event planning or event management, preferably in a fast‑paced environment. • Strong organisational and operational delivery skills. • Commercial awareness and the ability to secure sponsorship and partnership funding. • Excellent relationship management, communication and stakeholder engagement. • Attention to detail and a commitment to high safety and quality standards.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £28,710 per annum.
