Position Overview: Assistant/Associate Professor in Finance at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), located in Ningbo, China. Salary range: RMB 450,190 to 592,815 per annum for Assistant Professor; RMB 635,038 to 780,622 per annum for Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary progression beyond the range is subject to performance. Closing Date: Monday 22 June 2026. Reference: 184576.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, develop and conduct individual or collaborative research objectives, projects, and proposals, either independently or as part of a broader program.
  • Establish a national reputation and regularly disseminate and explain research findings through leading peer‑reviewed international publications, conferences, and other appropriate media.
  • Act as the principal investigator on research projects within the relevant field.
  • Deliver teaching across a range of modules or within a subject area, providing curriculum leadership within own area of expertise.
  • Design course modules and/or programmes of study in specialist areas and ensure their quality; identify and propose improvements to the content or structure of existing modules.
  • Supervise and examine Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD students.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Finance or a relevant subject area.
  • Proven ability to plan and lead the delivery of research and teaching programmes.
  • Evidence of a strong publication record or clear potential for publishing in top‑tier international journals appropriate to the level of the appointment.
  • Experience in teaching, supervision, and/or development of executive education within an agreed quality framework.
  • Ability and passion to work in the multicultural environment of UNNC and to explore research opportunities in China.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Remuneration and Benefits:

Successful candidates will be offered a five‑year contract. Salary falls within the ranges above for Assistant and Associate Professorships. Benefits and entitlements include accommodation allowance, insurance, schooling support, home flight, relocation and repatriation support, and paid annual leave. Candidates will also have access to Chinese talent scheme application opportunities, subject to eligibility.
