We are seeking an Access and Participation Plan (APP) Programme Manager (maternity cover) to ensure the University continues to meet its commitments to equality of opportunity, student success and regulatory compliance. Access and participation plans set out how higher education providers will improve equality of opportunity for under‑represented groups to access, succeed in and progress from higher education. The focus of our plan is on improving access and outcomes for specific groups of students and to address lower outcomes relative to peers at the University of Nottingham.
As the APP Programme Manager you will provide strategic oversight, coordination and assurance for the University’s APP; you will act as the institutional expert responsible for coordinating delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving progress against APP objectives. You will work closely with the Director of Education and Student Experience Standards, senior leaders, APP intervention leads and professional services colleagues to deliver the APP and keep the plan aligned with sector expectations, regulatory changes and institutional priorities.
Experience of access, participation, equality or regulatory compliance work is highly relevant; we also welcome transferable experience from related strategic or programme roles. Your working hours will be 36.25 hours per week on a fixed‑term contract for maternity leave cover until 31/7/2027. Part‑time work (minimum 30 hours per week) is welcomed; please specify your preferred hours in your application.
Please contact Pauline Maden, Director for Education and Student Experience Standards, pauline.maden@nottingham.ac.uk if you have further questions about this role. Applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted. Your application will be considered on an equal basis, subject to the relevant permission to work in the UK as set out by UK Visas & Immigration.
