Your role as a Cleaner:
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking people, who have a keen eye for detail and take pride in their work and who enjoy cleaning in a variety of areas to join our team of cleaners at the University Park Campus.
Main duties include:
- Cleaning a wide range of areas/spaces;
- Providing general and specialised cleaning within our buildings (offices, classrooms, carpeted areas, refuse disposal, toilets, bathrooms, changing and staff areas/rooms, corridors, stairwells etc);
- Providing excellent customer service at all times, working either independently or as part of a team.
This position entails providing both planned and reactive cleaning service across the building and supporting the local cleaning team covering holidays, sickness, deep cleaning, and any urgent requests/inquiries assigned by the Line Manager.
Previous cleaning experience within a similar environment and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Further details regarding the duties for the role can be found on the attached job role profile.
Positions Available:
These are permanent positions, required to be worked throughout the year 52 weeks, to include out of term/student vacation periods and are eligible for a 20% uplift allowance pay for any hours worked at the weekend. Please specify on your application which post you are interested in applying (e.g. Midweek Post 2) and see relevant information for each position below:
- Midweek Post- 1: Hours of work 15 hours per week (5 shifts/days per week/3 hours each day, mainly Monday to Friday) working between the hours 2.00pm and 5.00pm. Flexibility will be required.
- Weekend Post- 2: Hours of work 6 hours per week 2 shifts/days per week, mainly Saturday and Sunday between the hours 6.15am – 9.15am. Flexibility will be required.
- Weekend Post- 3: Hours of work 8 hours per week 2 shifts/days per week, mainly Saturday and Sunday between the hours 6.00am – 10.15am. Flexibility will be required.

The successful candidates for these positions will be expected to attend statutory training courses and any refresher training required by the department. There are planned training courses throughout the year and different options to attend either during a typical week, Monday to Friday or on set weekend dates within the year.
