Lecturer in Physiotherapy in Northampton

The University of Northampton is excited to announce an opportunity to work within the physiotherapy academic team. The role is 0.6fte (22.2hrs a week) and is an ideal opportunity for someone from clinical practice or already involved in supporting students in higher education to join the team. You would be joining at a time of growth, as the physiotherapy portfolio is expanding.

The overall role of a lecturer is varied and ranges from teaching and assessment, personal academic tutoring, developing teaching content, providing dissertation support, module leadership, recruitment interviews, placement visits and involvement in open days. There are plenty of opportunities to work with colleagues across the wider faculty.

We are looking for someone with a clear passion for teaching student physiotherapists. You will be conscientious, innovative and a team player, with a clear focus on developing the students you work with as well as yourself within this role. You will be passionate and enthusiastic about bringing your previous experience to this role and enhancing the student experience. Your high standards and quality of work paired with an honest and open approach to your work, will demonstrate your suitability for the role. You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Physiotherapist. A master’s degree is desirable for this role, although not essential.

Through your experience you will be able to enrich the student experience on a UK based Physiotherapy curriculum, ensuring learners are ready for their future careers and entry into the profession. A high level of organisation and prioritisation skills are essential to this role, to enable effective time management of tasks within different work streams to required deadlines. You will utilise effective communication skills to work collaboratively across a variety of professional teams.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject; Relevant professional qualification required; HCPC Physiotherapist registered.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in relevant subject; Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion; Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale.
