The School of Psychology and Behavioural Science is seeking a new Lecturer in Counselling for a permanent part‑time post. The role involves teaching, assessment and related activities, mainly supporting the Undergraduate BSc Psychology (Counselling) and MSc in Counselling courses. The successful candidate should enhance the faculty’s scholarly profile through interdisciplinary activities.
About you
You will have an excellent educational background in Counselling, Psychology or a closely related discipline. A postgraduate qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy is essential and you must be registered or accredited with a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP). You should possess expert knowledge of adult counselling, and prior teaching experience in higher education is a distinct advantage. Strong written and verbal communication, time‑management and organisational skills are required, along with proficiency in visual learning environments and remote teaching platforms. A dedication to personalised and supportive student learning is essential.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant subject
- Master’s or postgraduate qualification in counselling and/or psychotherapy (or a related field)
