Min T/E Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D in Political Science or Public Administration or a Master’s Degree in Political Science or a related field that includes a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in History. All degrees must come from accredited institutions. Strong consideration will be afforded to candidates who exhibit a demonstrated record of professional experience and success in undergraduate teaching. For positions that may include online teaching, candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to successfully structure and implement a distance-education based course.

Primary Purpose of Position: Instruction of Political Science and Public Administration

Job Description: The Department of Political Science and Public Administration has need for part-time or adjunct faculty to teach courses in the following subject areas: Introduction to Political Science, Introduction to American Politics, North Carolina Politics. We invite applications to be submitted for potential openings. These positions are especially suited for potential faculty who possess terminal degrees in Political Science or have a minimum of 18 hours of approved graduate course work in relevant fields of Political Science. Excellence in teaching and learning conducted within a rigorous and stimulating environment is an important core value of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. The Political Science and Public Administration Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and part-time faculty are expected to exhibit and maintain campus and department standards. Work Location: Main campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke or online.

Management Preference: Prior experience teaching in higher education.
