University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach in the United Kingdom for the Human Resources Management program.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field from an accredited institution.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Human Resources Management.
- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
- Local applicant only; must maintain valid legal status in the country of application.
Responsibilities
- Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and convey genuine energy and enthusiasm for learning.
- Guide students in collaboration and application of learning in problem- and project‑based learning demonstrations.
- Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for assessment of student work, and acknowledge student accomplishments.
- Demonstrate current subject‑matter expertise and help students connect concepts across the program.
- Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements.
Training
- Each new faculty member is required to complete the online new faculty orientation, FacDev 122, as a condition of hire.
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience.
- Hiring Range by Degree:
- Non‑PhD: Step 1 $903 – Step 16 $1,173 per credit hour
- PhD: Step 1 $931 – Step 16 $1,215 per credit hour
Benefits Package Highlights
- Health Coverage: Access to health care, medical with vision, dental, and prescription plans for individuals and families, effective from the 1st of the month following hire. Adjuncts only eligible for State of Maryland benefits; not subsidized rates.
