The Access & Student Success team is responsible for ensuring that the University identifies and recruits students of outstanding achievement and potential from all educational backgrounds, encouraging progression into higher education, particularly within its local communities. The team also supports the successful continuation, attainment, and progression of students who may face barriers.
We are currently recruiting for a permanent Access, Student Success and Development Coordinator. The post holder would benefit from experience working with underrepresented groups in HE. Key skills include the ability to prioritize a varied workload in a busy environment, a flexible approach, creative problem-solving, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience motivating and supervising others.
The appointee will support various projects within the team based on business needs. This recruitment focuses on supporting current students through projects that promote community building, belonging, academic skills, and personal development. This includes activities such as the Manchester 10/10 initiative for Black heritage students and other initiatives supporting students from Black, Asian, and Ethnic minority communities, as well as care-experienced and sanctuary seeker students.
The post holder will work collaboratively within the wider Access & Success team and directorate in a fast-paced, friendly environment that values initiative and innovative ideas to deliver excellent activities for students and supporters.
