The Role

As the Project Conservator, you will be responsible for assessing, conserving, rehousing and digitising the Ventris Papers collection at the Institute of Classical Studies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform condition assessment of the Ventris Papers archive.
  • Apply conservation and preservation techniques to library and archival materials.
  • Rehouse collection items to ensure long‑term preservation.
  • Facilitate the digitisation of the archive for access by scholars and the public.
  • Collaborate with the SAS Senior Conservator, the ICT Librarian, and the Curator.

Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience in conservation of library and archival materials.
  • Experience in condition assessment.
  • Professional knowledge of conservation and preservation techniques.
  • Ability to work on‑site only.
