The Role
As the Project Conservator, you will be responsible for assessing, conserving, rehousing and digitising the Ventris Papers collection at the Institute of Classical Studies.
Responsibilities
- Perform condition assessment of the Ventris Papers archive.
- Apply conservation and preservation techniques to library and archival materials.
- Rehouse collection items to ensure long‐term preservation.
- Facilitate the digitisation of the archive for access by scholars and the public.
- Collaborate with the SAS Senior Conservator, the ICT Librarian, and the Curator.
Qualifications
- Hands‐on experience in conservation of library and archival materials.
- Experience in condition assessment.
- Professional knowledge of conservation and preservation techniques.
- Ability to work on‐site only.
