The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint an industry-leading Senior Building Services professional to take up a significant leadership and delivery opportunity.
The University has a diverse and complex property portfolio, incorporated within the main Liverpool City Centre Campus and associated satellite sites. The Capital Projects Team (part of Property and Campus Services) has a key role in delivering and developing the campus buildings and engineering infrastructure of the University to support academic and professional services departments, based in 300 buildings (460,000 m2), across the 255-ha site. The Estate includes many listed buildings from the Georgian and Victorian periods as well as contemporary buildings and conservation areas coupled with complex research laboratories, providing many challenges in maintaining and servicing the estate.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering Services, the successful candidate will be employed within the Engineering Services Group providing professional mechanical & electrical engineering support to other building professionals both on Major Capital and Minor Projects, managing building services elements of schemes ranging from circa £25k to £120M.
In this dynamic position, you’ll work closely with Capital and Minor Works Project Managers, Mechanical and Electrical Consultants, and Maintenance Surveyors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will have a key role in ensuring quality assurance and co-ordinating the development of standard mechanical and electrical specifications in accordance with university policies.
We are seeking an industry-leading candidate with significant experience in an engineering/building services project delivery role across a large, complex organisation with a broad range of core activities. With a background and professional qualification in building services, you will possess a proven track record understanding the fundamentals of engineering and applying them to a campus environment. Experience of educational/laboratory/technical environments would be a significant advantage, on mechanical and/or electrical installations which includes new build projects and refurbishment schemes in a variety of building types.
