The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
You will work within the Engineering Services Group of the Facilities Residential and Commercial Services department, and you should have experience of working within the Construction and Mechanical and Electrical Services related industry working on a variety of projects up to a value of £5 million.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a Construction/Engineering related subject. You will have experience of designing and procuring electrical infrastructure and building services in complex and highly serviced environments, such as research laboratories, and ideally with a strong bias towards successful project management of new electrical and mechanical installations.
You will co-ordinate and manage an in-house electrical and mechanical design team together with the external Consultants and Contractors ensuring that all projects are completed within the agreed budgets and timescales and that they meet the initial design brief objectives.
You will establish effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to foster a culture of project delivery excellence. You will further develop, monitor and maintain a suite of relevant policies and procedures, where appropriate, and ensure the delivery to acceptable standards in respect of electrical engineering design, operation, and maintenance of electrical installation and infrastructure across the University Estate.
Analyse and interpret the needs of the Facilities Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS) and its customers in terms of Building Services loads and capacity across the campus HV and DH networks. Assist in the development of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) services within the policies developed in conjunction with the Head of Engineering Services, working within a general framework of 'best value'.
Ensure that a consistently high standard of quality control and supervision is maintained for each contract with compliance to design brief, design information, drawings, specifications and site instructions, via site visits, this includes the ongoing monitoring of works as they proceed and full testing and commissioning on completion.
