The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Flight Dynamics (Teaching & Research track).
We are seeking an ambitious, collaborative and well-established researcher capable of leading the development of internationally recognised research activity in areas related to flight dynamics.
We are seeking a recognised research leader in flight dynamics who can provide academic leadership within the Department and contribute to the strategic development of aerospace engineering at the University of Liverpool.
We welcome applications from candidates working in areas including flight dynamics, flight control, guidance, navigation and control, autonomous systems, modelling and simulation, aircraft handling qualities, rotorcraft dynamics, uncrewed aerial systems, digital flight technologies and related fields.
Candidates with experience of leading major research programmes, industrial collaborations or defence-related research activities are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and growing department at the centre of major institutional investment in resilience, sustainability, and engineering innovation.
Supported by significant investment in research infrastructure, laboratories, and interdisciplinary capability, you will have the opportunity to develop internationally competitive research programmes, secure external funding, establish industrial and governmental partnerships, and contribute to high-impact translational research.
The Department works closely with colleagues across engineering, materials, manufacturing, digital technologies, and energy systems providing a highly collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research and teaching.
The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while helping shape the future direction of research in flight dynamics within the School of Engineering.
