As a Senior Data Scientist with GeoDS, you will lead the development and operation of data-driven, geospatial applications that support cutting-edge research across academia and industry. You will blend advanced programming, geospatial analytics and LLM techniques to translate diverse spatial data into practical solutions. You will manage collaborative projects and engage with stakeholders to drive impactful policy-relevant insights. This role sits at the intersection of research and service delivery within SDR UK.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain data-driven geospatial applications and workflows
  • Leverage Python, R, geospatial analytics and LLMs to translate complex spatial datasets into practical solutions
  • Collaborate with academia and industry to enable research and impact
  • Coordinate team activities and ensure efficient operational practices
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Support project management and governance using platforms like GitHub
  • Foster strong internal and external relationships to sustain the data service
