It is an exciting time to join Libraries, Museums and Galleries as we are recruiting for a Research Engagement Co-ordinator at the Cultural Heritage Service.
As Research Engagement Co-ordinator, you will join the team developing and delivering Voyager at 50, a major exhibition and public programme opening at the Victoria Gallery & Museum in August 2027. Drawing on the Libraries, Museums and Galleries designated Science Fiction Collection, alongside wider cultural heritage collections, the exhibition will explore the history and legacy of the Voyager space probes launched in 1977.
This is a key strategic role, undertaking a range of duties to strengthen relationships with researchers and deepen engagement with priority audiences through heritage, creativity and research.
You will play an active role in developing research-based events and activities for young people as part of the project team.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Lead the development and delivery of the research engagement strategy for the project, coordinating academic involvement whilst exercising independent judgement over priorities, delivery plans, stakeholder engagement and programme development.
- Develop and manage project plans, risk registers, evaluation frameworks and performance reporting mechanisms, ensuring objectives, milestones and impact measures are achieved.
- Lead and manage the project within defined budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources, delivery against agreed objectives and timelines, and appropriate financial oversight.
- Establish and manage productive relationships with LMG staff, researchers, research centres, cultural organisations and community partners, acting as a principal point of contact for the project.
- Ensure project work aligns with wider LMG cultural and public engagement activity, maintaining strong communication with colleagues across campus.
- Maintain high standards across all project processes, supporting LMG's reputation for collaborative, inclusive and well-managed cultural projects.
- Support the development and implementation of access and inclusion approaches across the project, ensuring activity is welcoming and relevant to diverse groups of people.
- Work to maximise outcomes from project activity, contributing to access and participation goals, public engagement with research, and the wider student and community experience.
