The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool invites applications for a Lecturer in Aerostructures (Teaching & Research track). We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative researcher with the potential to develop an internationally recognised research profile in areas related to aerostructures. We welcome applications from researchers working in this area, including structural mechanics, composite structures, aeroelasticity, lightweight structures, structural dynamics, structural integrity, digital engineering, experimental mechanics and related fields. Candidates whose research aligns with national priorities in resilience, sustainability and aerospace capability are particularly encouraged to apply.
You will join a dynamic and growing department at the centre of major institutional investment in resilience, sustainability, and engineering innovation. Supported by significant investment in research infrastructure, laboratories, and interdisciplinary capability, you will have the opportunity to develop internationally competitive research programmes, secure external funding, establish industrial and governmental partnerships, and contribute to high-impact translational research.
The Department works closely with colleagues across engineering, materials, manufacturing, and digital technologies, providing a highly collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while helping shape the future direction of aerospace research within the School of Engineering.
