About the opportunities

The role forms part of the University's Finance Systems Transformation Programme (FSTP), providing vital support that enables Finance subject matter experts to focus on key transformation activities such as system design, testing, data migration, and business readiness. While supporting the delivery of day-to-day finance operations, successful candidates will gain valuable exposure to a wide range of central finance processes and play an important role in a major institutional transformation programme.

We are seeking a Control Team Leader to join Finance Operations on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract supporting delivery of the Finance Systems Transformation Programme (FSTP). This role will lead the University's financial control and reconciliation activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, integrity of financial data and effective operation of key financial controls. The successful candidate will manage a small team responsible for reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, system interfaces and process improvements while helping prepare Finance Operations for the future ERP environment.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience working in a financial accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing staff.
  • Strong IT and financial systems skills, including advanced Excel.
