We are seeking an apprentice working directly with children to support their progress up to and including year 6. If appointed, you will follow the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard. Duties include: establishing a supportive relationship with pupils and ensuring acceptance and inclusion of every child.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing a supportive relationship with pupils
  • Ensuring acceptance and inclusion of every child
  • Helping pupils to concentrate and finish work set
  • Ensuring the children are able to use equipment and materials provided
  • Motivating and encouraging the children as required
  • Supporting learning
  • Able to support activities under direction of the class teacher
  • Support the class teacher, applying strategies to support and encourage the development of independent learners
  • Adapt communication strategies for the audience and context
  • Apply behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policy
  • Adapt resources to support all learners
  • Communicate with teachers to ensure clarity of the TA\’s role
  • Apply teaching strategies to deliver learning activities or interventions
  • Build relationships with learners, teachers and other professionals and stakeholders
  • Comply with legislation, guidance and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety
  • Support the well‑being and mental health of learners
  • Observe, record and report on learners in line with organisational procedures
  • Apply methods of formative assessment
  • Use up‑to‑date technology safely to support learning
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners
  • Provide feedback to learners

Training schedule

  • You will gain a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3
  • You will work and complete your training at Holbeach Bank Academy
  • The training will include visits from your assessor in the workplace
  • GCSE in:
    • English (grade 4)
    • Maths (grade 4)
