The University of Lincoln’s School of Health and Care Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science to join our growing Allied Health Professions portfolio. The School is home to a vibrant and interdisciplinary academic community delivering programmes across a range of health and social care professions, including nursing, social work, paramedic science, diagnostic radiography, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy. Our programmes are closely aligned with workforce priorities and developed in partnership with regional health and care providers.

The BSc Paramedic Science programme is a well-established and expanding part of the School’s portfolio and is delivered in close partnership with East Midlands Ambulance Service and other clinical providers. The programme prepares graduates for contemporary paramedic practice through a combination of academic study and extensive practice-based learning. The School has also recently introduced a BSc Paramedic Science Degree Apprenticeship route, further strengthening our contribution to workforce development across the region.

The Role

As Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science, you will contribute to the delivery, assessment and ongoing development of the BSc Paramedic Science programme and the degree apprenticeship route.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Teaching and assessment across modules within the Paramedic Science curriculum
  • Supporting students through academic tutoring and supervision
  • Contributing to curriculum development and programme enhancement
  • Working collaboratively with clinical partners to support high-quality practice-based learning
  • Contributing to interprofessional learning across the School’s Allied Health Professions portfolio

You will join a supportive and collaborative academic team committed to delivering high-quality education and preparing graduates for contemporary professional practice.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated paramedic professional with a passion for education and workforce development. You will be a qualified Paramedic with current or eligible registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Experience of teaching in higher education or supporting student learning in practice is desirable, and applicants should demonstrate a commitment to developing their academic practice and contributing to a scholarly teaching environment. For a Senior Lecturer appointment, candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in higher education teaching and/or a developing research or scholarly profile.
