If you have experience providing excellent reception services, good IT skills and the ability to actively listen to customers and deal with unexpected situations with courtesy, diplomacy and patience, this role could be ideal for you.
Join us in the Accommodation Services Team, providing a friendly, helpful and informative reception service to students, staff and external visitors. We are looking to appoint a part‑time Assistant to work weekends and support our existing front‑of‑house team. It is essential that, in addition to excellent customer service skills, you are able to deal calmly and confidently with all queries and bookings.
What you’ll do:- Confidently resolve all initial enquiries from students, staff, residents, and others.
- Provide a friendly, helpful and welcoming service to all visitors at the reception area of the halls, acting as a positive ambassador on behalf of the University and ensuring all communications are handled professionally.
- Act as the central reception point for deliveries, sorting and collecting post, taking and passing on urgent messages.
- Assist with supporting the commercial services team.
- Acquire expertise in accommodation and University policies and procedures relating to students and their stays to answer enquiries accurately.
- Experience working in a busy and demanding front‑facing customer service environment, providing excellent customer care.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult and unexpected situations.
- High level of IT skill and familiarity.
We offer a generous annual leave allowance of 30 days per year pro rata (plus an additional 14 bank holiday and concessionary days), progressive pay rates, access to discounts at popular stores, and more.
