We are looking to appoint 5 new Accommodation Facility Offices (Property Maintenance / Facility Handyperson) due to large growth in directly controlled student accommodation.
SAS032, SAS100, SAS101 and SAS102 are all permanent and full-time at 37 hours per week.
The post-holders will assist with the provision of minor maintenance works, including: general maintenance, decorating, compliance, grounds maintenance and similar. Additionally, the role holders will assist the Accommodation Officer in preparing premises and rooms for occupation as required. The role will involve fire alarm response duties delivering a mobile response service, manual handling and working at heights. The role will at times require moving between accommodation sites in a team van, for which a full driving licence is required. This post will require flexible hours to accommodate regular over-night and weekend working, typically but not exclusively 3 to 5 days a week from 7. Roles available cover day and night time shift patterns.
You will have worked in a range of maintenance environments with comparative technical experience, such as property / facility maintenance, literacy and numeracy skills gained from general education or equivalent experience necessary to undertake the full range of maintenance duties, effective administration skills to be competent in a range of IT software (eg Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent) and the ability to be able to follow procedures with minimal supervision.
You must demonstrate a genuine commitment towards continual service improvement, ideally focussed around the customer experience to enhance the ‘student experience’. You will be an effective team member, with an enthusiastic and flexible approach and have the ability to work under pressure to tight timescales.
