We are seeking to appoint two talented researchers to join the NIHR-funded Evidence Synthesis Group within the Division of Public Health and Epidemiology.
Working as part of the Leicester-based Evidence Synthesis Group, you will contribute to systematic reviews, quantitative evidence synthesis and health economic research supporting healthcare evaluations and health technology appraisals.
At Grade 6, you will undertake literature searching, evidence identification, data extraction, critical appraisal and quantitative analysis with guidance from senior colleagues. You will contribute to the delivery of research projects, preparation of research outputs, patient and public engagement, and dissemination of findings through publications, workshops and conferences.
At Grade 7, you will take greater responsibility for defined elements of research projects, working both independently and collaboratively to deliver agreed objectives and milestones. You will lead aspects of evidence identification, critical appraisal, analysis and interpretation; contribute to methodological development, publications and future research proposals; work with external collaborators; and provide guidance, mentoring or support to research staff and students.
Both roles offer the opportunity to contribute to high-quality, multidisciplinary healthcare research and to develop expertise in evidence synthesis, health technology assessment and quantitative research methodologies.
About you
You will have a strong quantitative background and experience of systematic reviews and evidence synthesis in a healthcare setting. You will bring excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, alongside the ability to organise your work, meet deadlines and contribute positively to a collaborative research environment.
For appointment at Grade 6, you will normally hold a relevant master’s qualification or have equivalent professional experience and demonstrate the potential to develop as an evidence-synthesis researcher.
For appointment at Grade 7, you will normally hold a relevant PhD or equivalent professional experience. You will also demonstrate greater independence in planning and delivering research, experience of producing peer-reviewed or equivalent technical outputs, and the ability to lead defined elements of research activity and communicate complex findings to different audiences.
