About the role

TheDivision of Biomedical Services,University of Leicesteris astate-of-the-art small animal facility that support biomedical and translation research in the College of Life Sciences. The Division is seeking an Animal Technician to be involved in caring for the animals and carrying out procedural work.

The facility primarily consists of rodents and fish and carries a wide variety of interesting pre-clinical work including breeding of genetically modified animals, testing of new treatments for human diseases, surgical work, gene editing and embryo/sperm cryopreservation. About you

To be successful in this role you must have a caring attitude towards animals. Some experience in working in a rodent or small animal facility is advantageous though not essential as full training will be given.

We have a dedicated training team that supports and develops staff skills. You must have good communication skills and be able to engage with other members of the technical team and researchers. You will be capable of following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for your work in the facility.
