Senior Storage Engineer

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The Storage Team is focused on delivering storage space from on-premises and public cloud systems, making it easy and safe for our customers to archive, vault, protect, and share data, as well as backing up servers, databases, and applications. At present, we manage and oversee more than 10 petabytes of data with projections indicating substantial growth, particularly with the acceleration of University Research.

You will actively contribute to the implementation of the policy and process standards, service offerings, and strategic projects with wide-reaching impacts across the University as a key member of the Storage Team. You will be instrumental in shaping and standardizing the delivery model and operational practices as we modernize our storage estate for Research data.

You will take a leading role in the development of solutions for complex issues and problems. Your inspirational approach will raise the quality of services delivered by the team, fostering a focus on continual service improvement throughout its provision. Leveraging your IT expertise, you will contribute to the development of a service aligned with industry best practices, IT standards, and regulatory compliance.
