This role will be based at the FAAM Airborne Laboratory, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The FAAM Airborne Laboratory is a unique, highly modified 4-engine jet aircraft adapted to carry a range of science instruments, supporting the UK atmospheric science community and data users. Managed by a team of scientists, engineers, flight technicians, and project managers, it offers comprehensive support for scientific research. The Facility is supported by the NCAS and funded by NERC, serving as a vital environmental research infrastructure.
The Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) Programme aims to deliver upgrades to extend the aircraft's operational life to 2040, meeting the needs of UK researchers, the Met Office, government bodies, and international partners.
As the MLU Project Planner, you will manage the development and delivery of projects, working closely with the MLU Director, Project Manager, activity leads, and stakeholders to plan, schedule, and review tasks. Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, especially in engaging with technical and operational stakeholders.
