Are you passionate about widening access for mature learners and have experience of teaching access to HE programmes? Do you want to inspire and support students returning to education, to build their confidence to study independently in Higher Education? Are you able to build networks across university programmes to support students’ progression routes into different disciplines?

The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) works with mature and part-time undergraduate and foundation-year learners across the University, especially where this enables participation of people from groups that are under-represented in higher education.

The long-standing part-time, one-year, BA Interdisciplinary Studies with Foundation Year (Preparation for Higher Education) course targets mature students returning to study. Following the retirement of our previous role holder, we are looking for a full-time Programme Leader to take up a one-year secondment to run and review this programme over the coming year, to develop an exciting offer for new applicants in the ever-changing context of access to higher education.

This post is required to teach online and on-campus. The role holder will be a dedicated professional with expertise in teaching mature learners from diverse backgrounds without traditional qualifications, who may have had negative educational experiences in the past.
