Do you have experience of operating research quality assurance and/or research compliance functions? Do you enjoy working in an analytical role? Do you have excellent communication skills?

In this role you will work closely with the Head of Research Quality and Impact, and the Research Quality Manager to support senior university management in achieving University strategic plan targets in relation to research quality and impact, build networks across the University and work in a complex and changing environment.

You will make a significant contribution to the University’s preparation for the next national exercise assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions (Research Excellence Framework (REF)). This will be a substantial proportion of the role, particularly in the years immediately prior to the REF submission, expected to be late 2028, and will include supporting the compilation of the submission, responding to audit and analysing the outcome of the exercise.

You will also be responsible for supporting and monitoring compliance with research funder requirements, for example supporting the library with open access exceptions for research outputs.

You will bring experience of working in a research quality assurance and/or research compliance function with sound methodical approaches to undertaking complex analysis and reporting.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role may only be suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants if they are eligible for salary concessions.
