Project summary: Edge intelligence for the Internet of Things (IoT) presents a revolutionary solution to the limitations of existing approaches to data processing and decision-making. Traditional methods, heavily reliant on centralized cloud infrastructure, often encounter challenges such as latency issues, bandwidth constraints, and security vulnerabilities. In contrast, edge intelligence decentralizes data processing by leveraging localized computational power and analytics capabilities, thereby reducing latency, enhancing data privacy, and minimizing bandwidth usage. This approach facilitates real-time analysis of data streams, enabling rapid insights and responses without continuous connectivity to the cloud. Moreover, edge intelligence empowers IoT devices to perform autonomous decision-making based on local insights, fostering efficiency and reliability across diverse industries.

The candidate in this role is expected to delve into the multifaceted landscape of Edge Computing, AI, and IoT and aim to unlock new possibilities for intelligent and efficient IoT systems.

Please state your entry requirements plus any necessary or desired background: First class or an upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
