This role is available to employees within the Facilities Directorate at the University of Leeds only.

Are you a highly motivated qualified joiner with experience in passive fire protection? Do you have excellent problem‑solving skills and a logical approach? Can you manage the work of a team to deliver fire door maintenance?

You will be a qualified Joiner/Carpenter with experience of working on‑site, preferably within a similar large and complex environment. You will have a flexible approach to ensure the service being delivered is efficient and effective to meet the needs of a wide portfolio of clients. You will join our maintenance team that forms part of the Facilities Directorate, which is dedicated to providing a wide range of support services connected with the effective management, development and maintenance of the University.

You will look after the day to day running of a team of specialist joiners, delivering planned maintenance to fire doors across the University, where you will be central to delivering the student experience for the University. You will have successfully completed a recognised Joinery/Carpentry qualification and apprenticeship and have on‑site experience. You will be able to work unsupervised, and on your own initiative, within a large and complex organisation, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all our staff, students and visitors.
