Are you an experienced academic with a proven ability to carry out teaching and scholarship in accounting, finance, banking and related topics? Do you have the drive to tackle new challenges and deliver world‑leading scholarship and an exceptional student experience at a Russell Group University? We are seeking outstanding individuals with a strong teaching and scholarship profile to complement our existing strengths in Accounting, Finance and Banking.

The Accounting and Finance Department fosters a vibrant research culture where the personal development and career progression of early‑career researchers is integral to our strategy. Our research is organised around four main themes, focused on applied and empirical studies and supported by four specialist research centres. We invested over GBP 2.5m in databases to assist world‑class research, and over the most recent six‑year period our members published over 40 articles in journals recognised as either Journals of Distinction (CABS 4) or Top Journals in their field. Our flagship BSc Accounting & Finance programme is consistently ranked among the top five in the Complete University Guide, and our MSc Banking and International Finance and BSc Banking and Finance programmes are accredited by the CBI.

As a Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) you will conduct undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, develop curriculum, supervise students, and manage course delivery within the School, Faculty and University. You will carry out research, publish in high‑impact journals, seek research funding, and collaborate with research partners, private and public sector organisations, and governmental bodies. You will contribute to academic leadership within the business field with a specific emphasis on accounting and finance.

Qualifications

  • Proven teaching experience and strong scholarship record in accounting, finance or banking.
  • Demonstrable ability to secure research funding and publish in top peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Experience in curriculum development, student supervision and academic leadership.
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and research within a Russell Group university.
