Overview
The School of Mechanical Engineering seeks a Lecturer who will contribute to the academic mission through research, teaching and academic citizenship. The role supports research programmes, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and service activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a high‑quality, internationally recognised research programme aligned with the School’s strategic priorities, including interdisciplinary and externally funded projects.
- Deliver research‑informed teaching and curriculum design across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, fostering inclusive, engaging and high‑quality student experiences.
- Supervise and mentor students and early‑career researchers, supporting their academic and professional development.
- Contribute to administrative and service activities that support the effective operation of the School and the University’s commitment to excellence, equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Participate in transnational education activities, including overseas teaching for up to six weeks in an academic year, if required.
Qualifications
- Advanced research experience and a track record of high‑quality research in robotics, artificial intelligence and mechatronics.
- Experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and curriculum development.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, collaborative teaching and a supportive learning environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of academic citizenship, service and equity, diversity and inclusion principles.
