Please note that this role is only open to current University of Leeds students who will be graduating after September 2026. Interviews are expected to be held during the week commencing 04/05/2026, and can be arranged online.
Do you want to help students feel welcome at the University? Would you like to play a role in delivering high quality support and activities for new students from all over the world? Every year the University welcomes thousands of new students to Leeds during our three main arrival periods in summer, September and January and organises activities all year to provide an exceptional welcome experience and connect students from all backgrounds and promote their sense of belonging to our diverse University community.
As an International Welcome Team Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of international arrival services during the main arrival periods. Some of the team will also have the opportunity to support our welcome, social and cultural activities for all students. International Welcome Team Assistants play an important role in helping students to have a warm welcome and positive experience of settling in and developing their community in Leeds.
You’ll be expected to have excellent customer service skills, be comfortable talking to people, and enthusiastic about encouraging people from different backgrounds to make connections with each other. You’ll need to be resourceful, flexible and able to work independently and under pressure at times. We are keen to recruit a team with a wide range of experiences of student life to welcome and support our diverse community of new and continuing students.
