There are 2 roles available for this post. This role is open to current employees within People and Culture at the University of Leeds only.
Salary: Grade 9 (£56,021 - £64,914 p.a. depending upon experience). This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have significant HR experience gained in a large and complex organisation, operating at a senior level? Are you able to provide strategic support, professional HR expertise and leadership to our academic faculties?
This is a key role, providing HR leadership for an academic faculty hub and across the University through membership of the HR leadership team and the People and Culture Leadership Group. You will support either the faculties of:
- Engineering & Physical Sciences/Environment/Biological Sciences
- Medicine and Health
You will strengthen our service leadership and delivery, enhancing both institutional and individual performance, and directly support the delivery of the University’s Research and Innovation, Student Education, and International strategic priorities through your innovative approach to organisational development and change management.
You will play a lead role in implementing our new service delivery model as part of the CPS programme, setting the foundations for developing business partnering capability, and implementing a consistent approach to our service activity.
To achieve our aims, members of the HR Leadership team work together to define and deliver our shared goals, targeting resource across the service to meet internal priorities and external requirements. Together, the team ensures a University wide focus on activities necessary to enhance organisational effectiveness, such as employee engagement, talent management, leadership capacity and capability, and organisational design and culture.
To enable delivery, a key role of the team is to ensure effective working and behaviours across the HR function with an element of fluidity between the leadership roles. At a University wide and a local level you will create a culture of trusted partnership, combining strategic local HR leadership with specialist expertise, and will strengthen the professional support and challenge to leaders.
Strong leadership skills, the ability to work in partnership with senior colleagues and to effectively manage and develop your team of professional colleagues to deliver a high quality and strategically aligned service are key to success within this role.
