Are you looking for a new and challenging role within an Information Governance Team? Are you able to provide strategic support and share your expertise in data management and data protection practices to develop an Information Governance Framework at the University?

We are developing an institution-wide Information Governance Framework (IGF) to transform the way that we govern and utilise our data. The Framework will provide a cohesive structure for managing and using data that can be understood and used by all staff. It will bring together different elements of data management, including data governance, data protection, data quality and information security.

The Information Governance Framework Manager will play a key part in co-creating, managing, and evolving the Framework and implementing and embedding new information governance processes. This role will build pivotal relationships across the institution, supporting the IGF leads in developing their areas of the Framework; Data Owners and Stewards in fulfilling their responsibilities for specific data sets, and embedding data management and assurance practices into everyday operations.

There will be plenty of opportunity to shape this new role as the scope of the Framework widens to encompass additional governance elements and data domains in future. As a core member of the Information Governance Team reporting to the Data Protection Officer and working closely with colleagues across the University, the role holder will also be responsible for implementing specific elements of the Framework that relate to compliance with data protection regulations, as well as assisting the team in responding to more general queries from across the organisation about the appropriate use of data.

Benefits:

  • 26 days holiday plus approximately 16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year
