You will be employed within the Faculty of Medicine and Health, School of Dentistry. This role is located at EthOss Regeneration Ltd., 8 Ryefield Court, Silsden, West Yorkshire, BD20 0DL.
Do you have a strong experiential background in Biochemistry or Chemistry and Materials Science or Materials Engineering or hold a PhD in a related discipline? Are you interested in working in a multi-disciplinary role for an expanding company at the forefront of dental innovation, at the interface of commercial and University collaborative research?
As Biomaterial Research and Development Associate, you will spearhead a high impact Knowledge Transfer Partnership between EthOss Regeneration Ltd and the University of Leeds, leading the development and testing of synthetic biomaterials for bone regeneration in dentistry and oral surgery. You will lead on shifting focus at EthOss toward internalising R&D capabilities and building resources allowing for genuine innovation, enabling expansion into oral and maxillofacial surgical applications.
The School of Dentistry will act as the knowledge base for this project and through their world-class expertise they will provide guidance in creating a Bone Defect Testing Platform that will utilise advanced material characterisation methods and novel immunological assays. You will have access to cutting-edge facilities to conduct specialist experimentation and will be responsible for developing a collaborative environment between the academic team and EthOss, ensuring knowledge is transferred and embedded into the company.
EthOss Regeneration Ltd is a UK-based company specializing in synthetic bone graft materials for dental implant surgery. Its flagship product, EthOss® Bone Graft (EBG), promotes natural bone regeneration without the need for collagen membranes, offering cost-effectiveness and simplified procedures. EthOss has achieved significant international growth and won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (2021) for export success.
