This role is open to University of Leeds employees only.
This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you an experienced events professional skilled in planning and managing outstanding events, online and in-person? Can you think creatively to develop and implement a programme of events for our supporter audiences?
You will be part of the Events and Networks team, working closely with colleagues in the Philanthropy Team to design and run events that will engage and enthuse groups of donors. These may be in person or online, small and focused events, large-scale receptions and everything in between. They may be based in Leeds, the UK more widely or overseas and as such occasional travel (including overseas) and some evening working is a requirement for the role. Events may be designed to increase awareness of a particular research area or fundraising priority, provide exclusive opportunities for donors to meet University leaders, or to thank donors and demonstrate the impact of their gifts on people’s lives. You will work with the Volunteering team to run events that bring together volunteers and beneficiaries, to raise awareness of volunteering and recruit volunteers, or to celebrate and acknowledge the impact of their support.
You will use your substantial experience of creating and project-managing high-quality and purpose-driven events of different types and scales, shaping the messaging, tone and style of an event to meet a particular objective or audience.
You will be experienced in seeing an event all the way through, from initial idea to implementation and review, combining high levels of organisation with a commitment to the best attendee experience.
You will have strong collaborative skills, able to develop relationships with a variety of colleagues to identify needs and opportunities and the role that events could play in addressing them. You will also be motivated by the power and energy of bringing people together in person and online, and the positive impact that can have on the people who attend, the University and the wider Leeds community.
