Do you have experience of working within a fast-paced administrative environment? Are you an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent administrative and organisational skills? Would you like to play a pivotal role supporting the delivery of high-quality research and student education activities? We are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Business Operations Officer to support the School of Dentistry.

You will join the team to provide high quality administrative support to the School's processes in recruitment, purchasing, HR and health and safety. This role will have a particular focus on providing support for senior staff. You will also be responsible for managing, organising and booking complex UK and overseas travel and accommodation plans, and supporting delivery of trips with things such as equipment, itineraries and visas.

You will work with other colleagues within the Business Operations teams and from Professional Services across the School and Faculty, including HR, Purchasing and Finance Offices, to adopt and embed a continuous improvement and service excellence approach. This will involve establishing and developing best practice processes.

  • Managing the goods receipting process ensuring timely goods receipting of goods and services to meet Purchasing Key Performance Indicators;
  • Providing advice and guidance on Business Operations and its function to wider School/Institute staff including senior colleagues;
  • Working as part of the Dentistry Business Operations Team and with colleagues across the Faculty to provide a professional and consistent approach contributing to efficient and effective processes;
  • Working with Faculty Business Operations networks to establish best practice and continuous improvement;
  • Providing comprehensive day to day executive assistance to senior staff;
  • Diary management including making appointments, arranging meetings and ensuring all details are added to the Outlook electronic calendar.
