We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Research Fellow at KMMS, focused on advancing impactful, collaborative health research in our region. The successful candidate will help build KMMS\’s international profile and foster research collaborations across the healthcare system of Kent and Medway, as well as with our partner universities. This role involves both research and teaching within the medical school, acting as a hub for research collaboration and innovation. The candidate will work to generate new opportunities, support interdisciplinary projects, attract external funding, and enhance research capacity. We particularly seek candidates capable of working across NHS and academic environments with a proven track record in applied health research aligned with our priorities. Please note, although the advertised salary is at Grade 9, the successful candidate can be aligned with the appropriate NHS pay scale based on their clinical discipline and experience. As a Senior Research Fellow , you will: Contribute to cultivating a research culture at KMMS that fosters new initiatives aligned with our strategic priorities. Collaborate with partners to prioritize research interests within structures like HIKSS, KSS ARC, and CRN, ensuring the realization of our collective Research Strategy. Support the development of interdisciplinary research projects, attract funding, and strengthen research capacity across the local health system. What will you bring to the role? Experience in developing research strategies and defining research objectives and questions. Ability to develop impactful research proposals leading to new insights and discoveries. Experience acting as principal investigator on major projects. Proficiency in generating innovative research approaches and methodologies.
