Our Widening Access and Uni Connect teams support pupil aspiration and attainment through their outreach work in targeted primary and secondary schools across Hertfordshire. The Student Success team works collaboratively with colleagues across the University to close gaps in outcomes by addressing the barriers that contribute to lower rates of attainment, continuation, and progression for underrepresented groups. Our ambition is to transform our students’ lives by empowering them to be successful in their journey at Herts and beyond. Our work is guided by the commitments and targets set out in the University’s Access and Participation Plan (APP).

  • Providing a high standard of customer service to internal and external stakeholders across multiple contact methods.
  • Assisting other members of the WASS administrative team when required.
  • Coordinating the end-to-end administration of the WASS Ambassador Scheme, including recruitment, scheduling shifts, monitoring worked hours, responding to queries and maintaining accurate records.

  • Experience of providing administrative support.
  • Good communication and IT skills, including experience of the MS Office packages.
  • A positive can-do attitude to problem solving, flexibility and adaptability to team and workload requirements, and a willingness to acquire new knowledge and develop new skills.
  • Experience working in higher education administration and/or a large complex organisation would be desirable.
