The Natural Resources Institute (NRI), a multidisciplinary research centre within the University of Greenwich, supports sustainable development and poverty reduction in developing countries. The Livelihoods and Institutions Department is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Impact Officer to design and implement SDG‑aligned prosperity and peace solutions in fragile settings. The role focuses on the Lake Chad region, engaging local communities and institutional partners to co‑design and test practical interventions that enhance environmental stewardship and achieve the R3 objectives (livelihood rehabilitation, community reconstruction and population resettlement). The fellow will publish in leading journals and lead impact activities that produce measurable policy, practice and community benefits.
Responsibilities

- Co‑design and test practical interventions that enhance environmental stewardship and R3 outcomes.
- Publish research in top-tier journals and disseminate findings to stakeholders.
- Lead impact activities that generate measurable policy, practice and community benefits.

Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent experience in conflict transformation, peace‑centred development, or a related field.
- Strong interdisciplinary research skills and experience with applied research.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
