About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Technical Engineer specialising predominately in machine workshop skills of Lathe, Milling and CNC production for Mechanical Engineering to be based at the University of Greenwich’s Medway Campus. The post will provide practical support for the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate students within the School of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within the technical team to provide support for teaching and laboratory work.
- Manage the machine workshop and demonstrate techniques to students.
- Support research and consultancy work within the School of Engineering and Faculty of Engineering and Science.
- Be under the direction of the Senior Technical Engineer Team Leader.
- Take responsibility for health and safety in the workshop and liaise closely with the Engineering Health and Safety Manager to ensure coordination of new policies.
- Provide manufacturing support for the development of artifacts associated with student projects, laboratory activities, and research projects.
- Advise and guide students in the development of practical aspects of their projects and supervise student practical work, including field trips.
- Support broader remit of the technical team, including other engineering disciplines.
