The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses leading to registration in nursing, midwifery, and allied healthcare professions. The University has invested over £8 million in the development of a state‑of‑the‑art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation.

We currently have vacancies for Lecturer/Senior Lecturers in Paramedic Science, with posts based at both our Medway and Avery Hill sites. We have both Full Time and Part Time positions available. We are seeking to appoint experienced paramedic practitioners/educators who will have a commitment to contributing to the university’s excellence in teaching and learning. We welcome applications from experienced paramedics who are keen to develop their role as educators, having developed teaching and assessing skills through a practice assessor or equivalent role. The School would also consider secondments from staff employed in the ambulance service. This opportunity is open to HCPC‑registered Paramedics with broad practitioner experience and/or teaching experience in a higher education institute.

As a lecturer you will play a key role in facilitating teaching and learning, and research and knowledge exchange across our Paramedic Science provision and provide an excellent student experience in a variety of formats, where diversity, inclusivity and equality are celebrated. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player and in return we will support you through continued professional development.

You will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition and an inquiring mind. You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship (if required), as well as contribute to faculty wide research and knowledge exchange activities. Opportunity may also exist to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme.
