Overview

The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty. We deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses leading to registration in nursing, midwifery, health visiting, school nursing, district nursing, paramedic sciences and other allied health professions. The University has recently invested over £3 million in state‑of‑the‑art simulation centres, which will further enhance our record of teaching innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate teaching and learning across the School of Health Sciences in the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) programme.
  • Develop and deliver teaching material, assessments and feedback for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Support students and staff in achieving learning outcomes and quality standards.
  • Contribute to the academic community through research, knowledge exchange and engagement with external partners.
  • Assist in the development of curriculum and teaching strategies in line with higher‑education quality frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Qualified, NMC‑registered SCPHN School Nurse.
  • Demonstrated teaching and assessing skills through practice or higher education experience.
  • Possibility to complete a teaching qualification (PGCHE) if required.
  • Commitment to professional development and progression through the GOLD framework towards HEA senior fellowship.
