On the 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent formed a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group.
Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.
Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.
The University of Greenwich is seeking to expand its Apprenticeship Skills Coach provision within the Faculty of Engineering and Science. We are looking for a proactive and engaging individual with excellent interpersonal skills to support apprentices and trainee professionals across a range of disciplines.
As an Apprenticeship Skills Coach, you will work closely with apprentices, employers and academic colleagues to monitor and review progress against apprenticeship standards, supporting learners to successfully achieve their apprenticeship and End Point Assessment.
You will act as a key point of contact for apprentices, providing information, advice and guidance throughout their apprenticeship journey. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with employers and other stakeholders, monitoring learner progress, and contributing to the continued growth and success of our apprenticeship provision.
Through regular progress reviews with apprentices and their line managers, you will adopt a coaching approach to help learners develop and apply their knowledge, skills and behaviours within the workplace, ensuring they remain on track to achieve and complete their apprenticeship on time.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational, administrative and digital skills, together with a flexible, learner-focused approach and a commitment to supporting positive learner outcomes.
Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of higher and degree apprenticeship programmes, together with experience in a similar apprenticeship, coaching, training or learner support role. Experience of supporting learners in a work-based learning environment and maintaining effective employer relationships would be advantageous.
The role is within the professional services team in the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences based between the Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, and the Greenwich Campus in Greenwich, London. The role will require collaborative work with colleagues in the Faculty and across other centralised University teams, and is matrix managed by the Head of Apprenticeships.
We offer a friendly and supportive working environment with plenty of opportunities to develop within the role and become more involved in the wider university community.
As part of our commitment to safeguarding and safer recruitment practices, appointment to this role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and an online search may be conducted on shortlisted candidates in line with our employment policies.
Employment Visa
Under the UK Government Points Based System scheme this role does / does not meet the criteria to be sponsored for a Skilled Worker Route application.
